Outside Laboratory Testing

While we have the equipment for in-house laboratory testing, we also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Twice daily a courier collects samples for our most heavily used laboratory. Once the lab results are complete, they are automatically uploaded into the patient's computer file.

We have recently began sending all intestinal parasite screens and canine heartworm tests to our outside lab.

  1. Heartworm Tests- We now send canine heartworm tests to our outside lab because the lab is able to perform four tests for the price of one (Heartworm Disease, Lyme Disease, Erlichia, and Anaplasmosis), which saves clients money.
  2. Intestinal Parasite Screens (Fecal Samples)- We now send these to our outside lab because the results are more accurate, as a lab technician trained specifically for that purpose is able to find lower numbers of parasites, as well as less common forms of parasites.

We often choose to use our outside testing laboratory for non-emergency testing in order to offer the best pricing options for our clients.
