M. Dennis Graham, D.V.M.: 
         
A graduate of Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Graham has served in the USAF Veterinary Corps, practiced in St. Louis, MO, Rochester, NY and Fort Wayne, IN.
     
He first established the Pine Valley Veterinary Clinic in  July of 1979 in a leased space in the Pine Valley Mall; the clinic was moved to its 2nd location in  May of 1990.  On December 26,  2007 the move to our current location was completed.
     
Dr. Graham practices general medicine and surgery, and has a special interest in canine and feline cardiology.  He has for years attended numerous seminars in that discipline in an attempt to provide current and practical medical advice for both clients and other veterinary colleagues.  In addition to physical examination, Dr Graham rountinely examines cardiac patients via electrocardiogram (EKG), echocardiography (ultrasound), thoracic radiographs (chest Xrays), oscillometric blood pressure monitoring, and blood testing.
     
Since May of 2000, Dr Graham has been examining cardiac patients via echocardiography when indicated or requested by owners and referring veterinarians.  He also uses ultrasound for abdominal exams, pregnancy checks, guided needle biopsies and bacterial cultures, and as an aid for tumor evaluations. 
     
The Grahams have 4 children.  Sons Shaun (Indianapolis)  and Brooke (St Louis), and daughter Erika (Detroit) are all married. The youngest daughter, Cotter, lives and works in Indianapolis, Indiana since graduating from Purdue University in May 2011.  Border Terrier, Linnhe,  Chihauhau "Romeo", mutt cat "Oban", and many fish (Koi and goldfish varieties) reside at the Graham domicile.
     
Dr. Graham confesses to be a practicing "Hosta-holic"--actively gardening in the home landscape with as many shade perennials as he can manage (currently exceeding 300 hosta plants alone).  The Grahams' were proud to be one of 8 homes featured by the Fort Wayne Botannical Conservatory in their annual garden walk on June 21, 2002.  They were also toured by the Indianapolis Hosta Society in July 2006. Dr. Graham enjoys attending Purdue football or basketball games.  Go Boilers!


Nancy J Bruns, D.V.M.:

Dr. Nancy Bruns is a 1993 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine.  After veterinary school, she spent a year working at a  low cost spay/neuter clinic in Ohio.  She then returned to her hometown of Fort Wayne where she spent the next 2 1/2 years working at the Emergency Animal Clinic.  Shortly thereafter, she and husband Mark, decided to start a family which now consists of their 4 children, Alex, Andy, Ethan, and Emily.

Dr. Bruns has been a staff veterinarian at the Pine Valley Veterinary Clinic since 1999.  She enjoys getting to know clients and their pets and has developed a special interest in managing cancer patients.  She enjoys a busy lifestyle balancing her career and family as part owner at the new facility.

During her free time, she likes to go running with her dog, Bagger, who must also share the limelight with their 3 cats, Gordy, Cosmo, and Henry.  If not at home or at the clinic, she can most likely be found cheering for one of her boys at a soccer game.  She also takes great pleasure in spending time with her daughter, Emily, who is the newest addition to the family.  Dr. Nancy Bruns also feels very fortunate to be part of the Pine Valley Veterinary staff who is like a second family to her.   

 

    


Dr. Theresa Schenkel, D.V.M.:

 

A native of Fort Wayne, Dr. Schenkel graduated from St. Francis with a bachelor of science in biology in 1999 and in 2004 from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has been working as a small animal practitioner since graduation, with a special interest in small animal wellness/preventative medicine and feline medicine, and is a current member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). 


Theresa and her husband Brent have a daughter, Gracie Ann and a son, Jonathan. They share their home with Alexis, a German Shepherd, and three cats; Oscar, Lizzie and Prince Ali. During her free time, Dr. Schenkel enjoys her time with family, reading, and spending time at the lake. 

 

 

 

Kathryn Chobot, D.V.M.:

 

Dr. Katie Chobot graduated from Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation, she practiced small animal medicine for two years out west in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Portland, Oregon. She decided to return to her home state of Indiana to be closer to her family, who live in Greensburg.

 

Dr. Chobot enjoys general small animal practice and getting to know her clients. She is passionate about consulting clients on prevention and treatment of their pet's behavioral problems. She has also developed an interest in dentistry, consulting clients on preventative dental care, and providing therapeutic teeth cleaning and oral surgery when indicated. 

 

Dr. Katie is married to Ed Chobot, an electrical engineering student at IPFW. The two met "speed dating" and have been together ever since. They have a son, Ben, born June, 2010. In their spare time they enjoy walking their two dogs, Madison (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and Ruby (a Golden Retriever). Dr. Chobot also enjoys horseback riding, gardening, and she has recently started quilting.
