About Jenna From a young age Jenna always loved animals, and always had pets. Her family was very encouraging when, at 4 years old, she announced “I want to be a veterinarian.” Needless to say, she did not actually know what that meant outside of working with animals.
A Fort Wayne native, she graduated from Northrop High School in 2004. While in school she participated in dance, poms and baton for 18 years, was in Color Guard all four years of high school, and joined the Boy Scouts of America’s Exploring program. Jenna started in 2003 as a high school intern, which mostly means stocking rooms and cleaning. She then continued as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist for several years. As the needs of the clinic changed, she began working exclusively in the reception desk, assisting the clients and pets more than the doctors and techs. It is during this time that we moved to the new building and upgraded our computer system which in turn made her our in-house IT department. She also eventually took on our diet inventory management and became very knowledgeable about the veterinary diets that we carry. As changes in technology have progressed, the IT part has become more prominent, as well as adding in Social Media and website management to her job. She is constantly taking continuing education, webinars, and other courses in these areas to further her ability to help the clinic. Family LifeShe married Nick in January of 2009 after having been together since January 2004. Nick has served in the US Air Force since 1996 where he plans to retire. They only have four-legged children in their home. They are a domestic shorthair cat, Anubis, and 2 dogs, Flytish the rescue Pit Bull, and Freyja, an American Staffordshire Terrier. They enjoy a number of family, outdoor activities with their dogs including: Jeeping, canoeing, camping, hiking, and running, have completed a number of 5Ks with and without the dogs as running partners.
