New Kitten Tips & Information

Pets and Children

It is very important to not only teach your new puppy or kitten how to play properly, but to teach children how to play and interact with your new puppy or kitten. One of the most important things to teach a child is how to read a pet's body language. Dogs and cats do not speak our language, so they only have a few ways to tell us how they feel, and body language is the first step. Unfortunately when we miss this language, their next way of telling us something is through a bite or scratch. Most kids bitten by dogs are under the age of 14, and bites most commonly occur in the face because children tend to bend or lean over the top of pets, and to the pet, this can be interpreted as an aggressive position.
